So take your time searching. There is definitely a lot of see in northern New Jersey. One great thing all homes here have in common, though, is that they’re only increasing in popularity. People love the homes and neighborhoods out here and are quickly snatching them up.

This is due in large part to how close so many of these homes are to New York City. As the cost of living continues to skyrocket there, expect that more and more people will be looking for property in this area. If you buy first, you’ll see your property value raise significantly.

Make the Most Out of Your New Jersey House Hunt

January 16, 2014 by · Leave a Comment

If you’re looking for a new home in New Jersey, now can be a very exciting time. However, as you probably know, there’s also a lot you need to do to make the most out of your purchase. Whether you’re looking at Ho Ho Kus homes or Ridgewood real estate, your final destination will only be as good as the amount of work you put into finding it.

Begin by figuring out exactly what you want in a home. You’ll have to be a little flexible when you start looking, but it’s helpful to at least have a blueprint. This means also setting a budget that you can absolutely afford. Take a lesson from the housing market crash and don’t buy a home you can’t pay for.

Next find a reputable realtor. One of the best ways to do this is by asking friends and family for recommendations. Interview prospective realtors and look for ones that are interested in what you want from a home, not just pitching the ones they have on the market. Also, tell them your budget upfront and make sure they realize you won’t budge on it.

When you start looking at homes, be certain to take the neighborhoods into consideration. No matter how nice the house is if your neighborhood is subpar, you’ll regret your purchase down the road.

Lastly, enjoy the experience. It’s a lot of work, but should be a time you look back at fondly.

Mixing Business with Pleasure in the Cayman Islands

December 19, 2013 by · Leave a Comment

Everyone knows the Cayman Islands are one of the most beautiful tourist destinations on the planet. If you’ve visited, I don’t need to remind you of what a magical place it can be. In fact, like most people, you probably had a hard time leaving and can’t wait to return. Fortunately, purchasing a property down there would make things much easier and can be more affordable than you think.

While there are always Caribbean vacation homes for sale, few can compare to owning one in the Cayman Islands. One of the many reasons this place is such a prized piece of property is because there are no income taxes, property taxes or even capital gains taxes. Start running business from the Caymans and all of a sudden your slice of heaven just became a sound investment.

You can also turn your new home into a place to stay for other tourists. Hire a management company down there and they’ll make sure the place runs like a hotel with you collecting the checks. The islands are just 3 hours from the continental US and have the best diving in the entire Western Hemisphere. So you know people will be returning often.

Although you may not think you can afford Cayman Islands luxury real estate right now, start small with something more manageable. Take advantage of the business friendly atmosphere and you’ll soon be making more money than you’re paying.

Finding the Chesterfield Home That’s Right for You

December 18, 2013 by · Leave a Comment

For the past five to ten years, Virginia has been receiving a large amount of popularity as a destination to live. People love its natural beauty, of course, which is perfectly complemented by the state’s moderate weather. Of course, there is plenty of modernity available for those who would rather spend a day at the mall than hiking through the woods. Its proximity to our nation’s capital makes it attractive to those who work in DC, but want a nice home to lay their head down in at an affordable price.

Chesterfield is an especially popular count in Virginia. It has all the beauty and amenities I mentioned above, but is also especially affluent. Many find it to be the perfect mix of Southern charm and hospitality with the exclusivity you might want in a suburb.

There are countless new homes in Virginia thanks to its newfound popularity, though the growth has slowed some thanks to the housing market crash.

While there are also many Chesterfield homes, the growth is not as rapid as other places in Virginia simply because of the price and limited space. This doesn’t mean there isn’t a demand of course.

It does mean, however, that if you want to live in Chesterfield, you should reach out to a realtor as soon as possible and start having that conversation.

Ho Ho Kus Feels Like Home

October 14, 2013 by · Leave a Comment

Ho Ho Kus, New Jersey is a city whose history is as interesting as its name. Though it was incorporated as borough back in 1908, the city was actually recognized in a land deed back in the seventeenth century. Soon after, settlers from the Netherlands and England began taking advantage of Ho Ho Kus real estate.

The city is home to plenty of national history. The Hermitage was built in the early eighteenth century and was where George Washington spent much of 1778. Aaron Burr would later win over and then marry Tehodosia Prevost. Much, much later The Hermitage was converted into the first golf course in New Jersey.

With its proximity to New York City and Ridgewood Country Club make Ho Ho Kus homes ideal for people who work in the area. Its picturesque, natural settings would easily be at home in a post card. There is also a vibrant volunteer community dedicated to serving their town, especially the local elementary and high schools. The Recreation Association, which is staffed by residents of both Ho Ho Kus and Saddle River, New Jersey plays a big role in creating after school programs and other opportunities for the area’s youth.

For being in New Jersey, Ho Ho Kus can feel more like one of those idyllic New England towns you only ever read about. If you’re looking for a town in the area, Ho Ho Kus is going to be hard to top.
